March On

Oh my poor little blog, how I've neglected you so! It's my babes, but a girls gotta live, and something tells me it'll survive without updates. So if you haven't noticed, I've been reconnecting with my inner child. I guess being surrounded by pink hues has some tender healing affects. It leaves me feeling all warm and fuzzy inside. Is it a bit much for the Mr to be surrounded by? Perhaps, but he's secure in his masculinity haha. You should be more concerned with the fact we haven't made any real attempts to go furniture shopping (Who am I? Seriously, Turkey has changed me!). We've been occupied in our own worlds, that practicalities of having stuff like chairs, hasn't made the priority list.  Let's just say our white sofa is now conveniently covered with a throw (Life hacks people, life hacks...). Really hope we get our act together before we have family over ...eek!

Healthy Chocolate Mousse
1/2 cup organic maple syrup (You can use other sweetener alternatives)
2 large ripe avocados
1 teaspoon vanilla extract or paste
1/2 cup raw cacao

  1. Combine all the ingredients in a good powerful high speed blender adding the maple syrup first, followed by the avocado, vanilla and cocoa.
  2. Blend for about 30 seconds until smooth and creamy.
  3. Add a splash of water or coconut milk to make a lighter mousse. Taste and adjust if needed.
  4. Spoon into a bowl and allow to set in the fridge.

My lovely friend made this batch for me to take home. We added it to fresh fruit, and enjoyed every spoonful, so yum! Thank you lovely xxx

Here's some truth to my on going absences (probably should avoid pointing it out). Perfectionism with a strong idealistic nature kill my productivity. It stumps any form of work flow. I get lost in should be's, and could be's. The circumstances will never be 'just right', and getting over that is crucial for me to remember. I often romanticise the future which means when reality sets in, I'm ready to throw in the towel. It's also a great procrastination method. This plan isn't ideal, let me do it another time. It's so absurd that so many things get pushed back. What I do know now is this; You just have to march on, and realise you've got to make the most out of what you've got. How do I always come back to this topic? haha...sorry I know it sounds like deja vu, but it's a life lesson that I've yet to master, so forgive me! Moral of the story...get stuff done, no excuses! Perfectionism can wait.

On the plus side, I used some time out to enjoy a bit of self care. I'm all about it! I guess it's the only thing that comes naturally (well, I got one thing down!). Don't ever underestimate a fresh look, healthy food, and good company!
Enjoy your week ahead :)

  1. Missed your posts. Are you coming to Libya in the summer?

    Sarah M

  2. Hey Sarah, most likely not. We have no real plans on visiting :/

  3. What a pretty combination, the reds and pinks against the neutral white background. I guess that's the benefit of a neutral background... Thank you for sharing this!

    1. Oh definitely, when everything is neutral you can freshen up the look anyway you like! Thank you :)
